CLAPR83 Price lists

CLAPR83 Price Lists

The Renault Importer wants to ensure that when manually importing price lists in CLAPR83 format, new parts for which not all the necessary data is available to be created are not ignored, but to:

  • These new parts are included in a “dummy” price list where they are stored with dummy data.
  • There is a process that reviews the “dummy” price list when importing a CLAPR83 and, if the necessary information is received for one or more parts, these are created in SIMA and extracted from the dummy price list.

Explanation of the Business Flow

🔹 Step 1: Receipt of CLAPR83 price list and verification of the part

  • Renault sends the price list in CLAPR83 format to the Renault Importer, the price list is available in the workspace.
  • A Renault Importer user manually imports the price list into SIMA.
  • The CLAPR83 price list import process reads the price list line by line and for each line checks the part:
  • If the part is not new, i.e. it already exists in the parts master, then the information for this part is updated in SIMA when the price list is confirmed by the user.
  • If the part is new, i.e. does not exist in the parts master, then the price list is searched for records [10 - Description], [20 - Family and Segment] and [60 - Purchase price] of that part.
  • If all three types of records are in CLAPR83 then:
  • The part is created in SIMA with the information of the price list.
  • The sales price will be calculated using the factor defined in SIMA.
  • The Supplier will be Renault.
  • If any or all of the record types are not received in CLAPR83 then the second step of the process begins.

🔹 Step 2: Check if the part is in the dummy price list and include it if it is not

After detecting that the part is new and that some or all of the records 10, 20 and 60 are missing, it must be checked whether the part is in the dummy price list. For this reason, the process asks the question "Is the part in the dummy list?”:

  • If the answer to this question is "NO" then the following actions are taken:
  • The part is added to the “dummy” price list.
  • “False” values are assigned to the part.
  • The part is marked with the “effective-date”. This is the date in which the part was added to the dummy list.
  • Important: The dummy price list is searchable, but cannot be confirmed.
  • If the answer to this question is “YES” then the third step of the process begins.

Inside the dummy price list a report is added to search by “price list file”. This report will allow Business to search for the parts included in the dummy price list from the CLAPR83 price list files.

🔹 Step 3: The part is in the dummy price list, in CLAPR83 do we receive information on this part?

Since the part is in the dummy price list, it must be checked whether in the price list in CLAPR83 format we receive any of the records 10, 20 or 60. For this reason, the process asks the question “Do records 10, 20 or 60 come in CLAPR83?”:

  • If the answer to this question is "NO" then the part remains in the dummy price list unchanged.
  • If the answer to this question is “YES” then the following actions are taken:
  • The information of the part is updated with the data provided in the CLAPR83 price list.
  • The process asks the question “Do I have all the necessary fields for that part?”:
  • If the answer to this question is "NO" then the part remains in the dummy price list unchanged.
  • If the answer to this question is “YES” then the fourth step of the process begins.
  • Important: To create the part in SIMA we must have all mandatory fields:
  • Description, Family (from this we obtain the discount groups) and Purchase Price.
  • The Sales Price will be calculated using the factor defined in SIMA.
  • The Supplier will be Renault.

🔹 Step 4: The part is extracted from dummy price list and added to CLAPR83 price list

The answer to the question "Do I have all the necessary fields of that part?" is "YES", so we already have all the necessary information to create the part that is in the dummy price list, In this case the process must perform the following actions:

  • The part is extracted from the dummy price list.
  • The part is added to the CLAPR83 price list, what we call "a normal price list". In this case the part retains the "effective-date" with the date on which it was added to the dummy price list, as this is the mark that identifies that it was in the dummy price list.
  • The part is created in SIMA when the CLAPR83 price list is confirmed.
  • A report is added to search for the parts of this CLAPR83 price list coming from the dummy price list. This report will be available for all price lists, so that Business will always be able to search from any price list the parts coming from the dummy price list. This report is located in the path: [Parts Module -> Parts Tab -> Price Section -> Lists Option -> Totals Miscellaneous Report -> Part from dummy price list Option].
