# What is SIMA Suite Extensibility?

## Introduction

The purpose of this document is to serve as a guide for using SIMA Suite APIs. Here is described the available APIs, their purpose and functionality covered, and, the link to the live documentation in Swagger.

Also, it is important to pay attention to the Conditions and restrictions of use.

## SIMA Suite APIs

The available APIs are described on each section, please use the tree to navigate them.

## Technical specifications

All SIMA Suite APIs are Rest API using oAuth2 as the mechanism of security and authentication. It is mandatory to install HTTPS to securitize communications.

Besides all those APIs are versioned. API versioning is the practice of transparently managing changes to your API. Managing an API boils down to defining and evolving data contracts and dealing with breaking changes.

## Conditions and restrictions of use

In this paragraph are described some restrictions in order to use the SIMA Suite API.

1. To avoid unexpected use and performance issues, the user has to specify the expected use by describing:
2. 1. The software that is going to be connected.
    2. The expected number of calls per day.
3. Although the APIs are versioned, during the time the oldest versions could be deprecated which means that the software connected has to adapt its interfaces with newer versions of the API.
4. Although there are APIs with many methods, not all of them are allowed to be used from external tools, this topic has to be defined with AIDA during the connection proposal sessions.
